About
As a lifelong Taos resident, Aaron brings a nuanced understanding of how to live and do business in a small, interconnected community. Aaron and Lisa Magee have been together for over 25 years with deep family roots in the history, art, and culture of Taos. Their son joins the construction crew every summer.
Together they create homes with people at the center of the process. Every project begins with listening to clients, to the land, and to the rhythms of life in Northern New Mexico. Their clients are curious, active, and grounded, drawn to Taos for its culture and wide-open spaces, whether that means skiing at Taos Ski Valley, rafting through the Taos Gorge, or spending time outdoors with family and friends.
Their work ranges from historic adobe haciendas to contemporary residences set on bold, inspiring sites. At Casa Celia, a centuries-old adobe was carefully honored through the addition of new living spaces, casitas, and a central placita designed for gathering across generations. At El Salto and The Cliff House, the cliff edge guided every decision. Outdoor rooms, courtyards, decks, and durable natural materials create a seamless connection between home and environment.
They believe the building experience should feel just as good as the finished home. Clear communication and collaboration guide each project from early planning through the final walkthrough, creating a process that feels open, steady, and personal. The result is a home that is thoughtfully built and deeply connected to the land in Northern New Mexico.
Aaron’s father, Vishu, and brother Jed, are all part of a multigenerational tradition of custom home building and design in Northern New Mexico, each with their own businesses.
Magee Build, Inc. has won Best of Taos Building Contractor in 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025.
